A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all forum members, and here's hoping Armourfast give us something to talk about next year! (a range of easy build Brit and Commonwealth 1/72 soft skins would be nice, not much out there in plastic,) :( :(

Not sure about the vallejo colour but from what I've seen the field grey was similar to WW2 uniform, maybe a bit lighter, but I don't get too hung up on exact shades as they would vary a lot anyway with wear n tear, weathering and washing.
