An idea

We're all interested to know "what's next" so this is where Tracy, Nicholas & the team will be able to share with us what's on the bench & the progress it's making into full production. But please be patient as things don't always go smoothly!

An idea

Post by Hardcastlehotspur » Fri Feb 22, 2019 1:20 pm

Just a thought - I was talking to a friend yesterday that was interesting in purchasing a box of German 105mm howitzer. However, as good as these items are, what is lacking is something to pull them. I suppose the 251/1 could be used, but did they ever do this.?

How about some kits (Allied or Axis) consisting of gun and "tractor?"

they did use a 251 for towing in the early part of the war but later it was sd11 h/tracks and mainly horses.

Hi HH,
Technically speaking... it was the 251/4 (or schützenpanzerwagen für Munition und Zubehör des leIG18 to it's friends  )that was used as the tow http://www.kfzderwehrmacht.de/Homepage_ ... 51-04.html but outwardly, they looked the same as the 251/1

Hi HH,
I suspect not as the only difference between the 251/1 & 251/4 is that the /4 had boxes of shells rather than seats."First to Fight" do them - showcased on the Henk of Holland site: https://henk.fox3000.com/firsttofight.htm (search for 251/4) & you can see the differences
Cheers
Colin
