Re: Hellcat
Paul,
To save people being concerned about what may or may not be included in a zipped file, next time could you post the images as images?
Of course, that means having them hosted somewhere

Hello Colin!
First time back for me and I think first time on the new site. Strangely it would not let me upload the individual pictures but it would accept the zip file. Just tried it again and got the same thing - a yellow warning triangle. What's going on there then? I've already reduced the file sizes so it can't be that they're too big. Do they need to be a particular file type? I thought JPEG was pretty standard. Any help gratefully received.

Hi Paul,
Good to have you back!
I think that you have to have the images hosted somewhere like photobucket & then you use the image icon to link to the web address of the photo, rather than simply adding to your post
Hope that helps
Cheers

Don't use Photobucket as they charge to share images on another site. I upload my photos to Flickr to share them sit is free.
Thanks.

Re: Hellcat
Nope. Still can't work it out. I've created a Flickr account and uploaded the photos. Damned if I can work out how I get them from there to here. If I "add files" to my post on this here forum it just opens my PC browser and wants to take a file from there. I can't seem to "add files" from Flickr. I thought perhaps I should paste the URL but the only place to paste the URL is in the body of this message, and then the preview just shows the URL itself. All of a sudden I feel my age...

No problem. They changed quite a while ago and you'll see a lot of forums where there is a PB holding page instead of the image because of it,
I gave up on PB long before the change as it was slow, clunky and full of adverts that made it even slower. Flickr was a revelation. Much, much faster and slicker plus it is free.

OK, I admit it, I'm thick. So I've created a Flickr account, uploaded the photos...now what? Doesn't seem to be any way of getting them from there to here. Pasting the URL just shows the URL in the message. Clicking "add files" just opens my PC browser for me to pick an image file which we already know doesn't work. So..what?

Hi Paul (aka "Mr Thick" - been there, done that, got the T Shirt & now selling it in XXXL size
),
I remember having the same issues as you...
What you have to do is when you're writing your post & have got to the point where you'd like to add your images, is to click the Image icon in the little toolbar just above the posting window

That puts the "
" "tags" in place & you then click in between them & that's where you put the link to your image
Alternatively, click on the SHARE button on your Flickr image & that will bring up a dialog box. Click on the BB Code tab & copy that into your post...
which will then look like this...
Toolbar by colin Foster, on Flickr
You can then edit out the extra bits (after the image) by getting rid of the bit before the (img) tag & after the (/img) tag ('though in the code they are "square" brackets
Of course, there may be a simpler method, but that works for me
